If you don't follow me on Twitter, you may not know that Jaelyn is not a sleepy baby. She loves to be held. All.the.time. Which is sweet and exhausting all at the same time! Then something magical happened last Sunday...
Four naps, in her crib - perfect angel!
I was crossing my fingers and praying that it wasn't just a growth spurt but instead because I swaddled her with her arms inside for a change.
Not so much.
Now she is fussy and impossible to get to sleep from about 7PM to 11PM, with no apparent cause...
So I am tired.
And Lauren is tired.
The dark circles under her eyes today indicate to me that the screaming has been seeping through the wall and into her little ears. Too bad she is so stubborn about naps - even in exhaustion, she forces herself to stay awake. For that reason, I am hopeful that this is a passing stage for Jaelyn, and the rest of us!
But, she sure is a pretty baby!
And I have to include this picture, because it literally left me with my mouth hanging open. She just looks too grown up! My little Paigey is not so little anymore.

Paige looks like she is off to kindergarten!!! SO stinkin' cute! Beautiful pics. Love the B&W! I'm off to get Taylor off the bus - love the excitement of first days of school. Ellie and I baked cupcakes in honor of the "event" - I am hoping things get a little easier for Ellie - all day she has been telling me how "boring" it is despite my efforts to entertain her... thankfully she'll be in school from 11:30 - 3:45 starting Friday! It will be good and quiet again - like getting Ellie's afternoon naps back - ha! Too bad the teenager arrives home at 2:40 p.m. - an hour before the girls... short sweet me-time but EVERY day - I'll take it. Your time is comin'... it is truly a blur and you'll look back when Jaelyn is off to kindergarten and have no idea how this can be happening so soon... kisses to the girlies - so proud of Lauren and her Daddy Dove hunt day - what an amazing little girl!

Soak it up. It'll seem like you blink and there Jaelyn will stand with her Curious George t-shirt looking all grown up. But seriously, when it's hard to see that far into the future (exhaustion does make it more difficult) I'll take a shift.
Wow, she is perfect! Remember when we were on Coronado Beach together a few summers ago and you were holding Sookie and told me that neither of your children smelled like that anymore? Now Sookie doesn't smell that like anymore and I want to hold Jaelyn!! haha!

Love the sleeping baby. It took my son four months to sleep on his own during the day. At night, I was awake about every three hours. But I barely remember those times and it was just a year ago. You're a great mom. I will pray for sleep and rest for you and your little ones.
I don't envy the reason for your "sniff" :(
